Our Mission We started making Top Knot Halters to bring you the best halter your money can buy. In other words, we didn't think people were getting a very good value for the other rope halters on the market. Once we started tying halters for our personal use, we started noticing the most rope halters on the market are either of very low quality or extremely overpriced for the materials and craftsmanship put into them. Other Halters On The Market Rope halters are available from two general places, your local tack store and for sale from many popular clinicians. At your local tack store, you might find a lot of halters for not that much money. You might pay as little as $10 for a halter and lead! The problem is these halters are usually tied overseas and don't look like they were made to fit on a horse's head. Some of the nicer rope halters in stores still don't seem to have a consistent fit. It is proper fit makes rope halters an effective tool in the first place. About the Fit of Top Knot Halters The halters that many clinicians sell for as much as $60 for a halter and lead do fit a horse better but a trained eye notices that a lot of corners are being cut when it comes to craftsmanship including straight and even knots, neatly finished ends, and the quality of the leather being used for poppers on lead ropes. Every knot is straight and tight, every end is finished smooth with no snags, and every lead rope popper is snug and made of high quality latigo leather. Also, the lead ropes are finished and shaped on each end to make it impossible to unravel. Every Top Knot Halter is also tied to fit your horse. The Average Horse size was created after halters were tied on every horse at the barn. We found a fit that would allow a halter to be effective on all our horses so chances are it will work for yours as well. Don't have an average sized horse? Don't worry. Send us you horse's measurements and we will tie a halter for you. How do we know every Top Knot Halter is this consistent? The gal that ties the halters is a bit obsessive and wouldn't have it any other way ;-). This brings us to another point, every Top Knot Halter is made in America of American made products! Dare to Compare Before you buy a halter from us, check out the competition. Now that you know about the effort we put into the construction of every Top Knot Halter we send out, go to your local tack store and look over what they have available. Is the rope soft and strong, are the knots straight, is every end smooth, does it look like it will stand up to abuse? Based on what we see around, the answer is likely no. Pricing So, our prices might be higher than the tack stores, but we are cheaper than the clinicians and we are confident that the quality of every Top Knot Halter far surpasses both and means you are truly getting a great value for your dollar!
